Barbara Aaby graduated with honors from Ohio State University (Summa Cum Laude) in 1973. She obtained her Master's Degree in Social Science Administration from Case Western Reserve University in 1977 and her law degree from Lewis & Clark Northwestern School of Law in 1993. Barbara practices exclusively in Family Law.

Barbara has been a member of the Oregon State Bar since 1993. She is an active member of numerous legal organizations, including the Multnomah Bar Association, Oregon Woman Lawyers and Oregon Family Law Practitioners. She has served as a volunteer for several Oregon State Bar programs, including the Volunteer Lawyer Project and the High School Mock Trial Program.

Barbara is a contributing author to Custody and Visitation and Temporary and Final Relief for the Oregon State Bar Family Law Continuing Legal Education Book. She has spoken at American Bar Association on matters related to child custody. Barbara also serves as the current Chair of the American Bar Association Committee on Child Custody.
